Fusion Petroleum Technologies Inc. is now offering the world-class geometry and statics solutions available in  Geophysics´ the Seismic Studio™ software package. Seismic Studio™ is the premier solution for challenging land and marine data sets where shallow subsurface velocity and geometry problems degrade the quality of seismic data.

Program Features:

The most powerful set of first-break picking tools in the industry

  • Extremely fast and flexible interactive picker
  • Autopicker for picking easy data quickly.
  • Delay-time (stacked-trace) picker
  • Pick error histogram displays
  • CMP pick editor window
  • Extremely fast and accurate pick-prediction algorithms
  • Any number of pick versions may be stored in the database

 Handles huge surveys

  • Very fast database. After testing a number of commercial databases, such as SQL Server, MySQL, Access, and Oracle, we decided that we had to write our own custom database to get the desired performance
  • For example, a 33 million trace GLI survey was imported in 35 minutes. (This includes indexing the trace table on 4 columns)
  • Delay time analysis on the 33 million trace survey took about 12 minutes

The most sophisticated project logic in the industry

  • Combine any number of files (2D or 3D) into one project
  • Additional data may be imported "on the fly"
  • Projects may be easily merged. This allows for really huge surveys to be broken up into chunks and assigned to a number of analysts
  • Multiple 2D lines may be treated as a 3D project

 Geometry QC functionality

  • Combine any number of files (2D or 3D) into one project.  Seismic Studio includes two distinct methods of checking geometry
  • Additional data may be imported "on the fly".  The first method is model-based. The delay time solution is used to predict a position for each source and detector.
  • Projects may be easily merged. This allows for really huge surveys to be broken up into chunks and assigned to a number of analysts.  The second method does not require a model

 Model building and comparison

  • Any number of model versions may be stored as "Snapshots". These may be recalled at any time and compared in the "Model Comparison Window"
  • Flexible, easy to use model building

2D & 3D Geometry Corrections

Robust 3D seismic processing requires accurate geometries. Unfortunately, typical land and marine OBC surveys often have errors in source and/or receiver locations that can significantly degrade the integrity of the seismic data and later processing work flows. Seismic Studio™ inter-actively determines and corrects seismic geometry errors for both land and OBC data. This interface is designed to allow the user to visualize the geometry errors easily so that analysis can proceed efficiently.

Example of geometry correction and its impact on the quality of first break picks.

StatCORR™ Reflection Statics Software

StatCORR™ provides the client with a robust and efficient way to compute and apply reflection statics to 2D and 3D seismic data. The StatCORR™ package provides several advantages including (1) spatially variable time and offset windows, (2) use of up to 3 cross-correlation events in the computation of the reflection statics and (3) the ability to interactively apply other statics, velocity fields, filters and decide whether or not to include these steps in the shift computation.
